US - TOGETHER

The week 4 sketch at Lets Get Sketchy

was a fun sketch to do
I have used the lovely Venetian Romance DSP from Stampin' Up.  I thought the back ground paper looked like the sea in the back ground of our photo.

I have put a journalling card behind the photo.

Thanks for popping in... I hope you are enjoying my blog as much I am enjoying putting it together.

NEW YEARS EVE DINNER

Week 4 Sketch at Scrapmuch

Came together really well .......

with this photo from New Years Eve Dinner.

I have used the new range in Kaisercraft DSP for the base of the layout... it worked really well with the floor boards of the restaurant.  The coloured strip on the layout is the 3 strips from along the bottom of each piece of paper - I just taped them together and they worked perfectly bringing the colours together.

HOSIN' OUT TIME

I am starting to enjoy these colour challenges and the one at Scrapmuch

has come together really well..... well I think so any way..........
When I saw this challenge come out, I really like the colours and they are colours use often.  But then it was mmmm... what photos to use.  I found this one of my husband and nephew hosing out the cowshed after milking and it then all came together from there.

I have used the lovely Stampin' Up DSP "Epic Day this and that".  The barb wire chip board is from dusty attic and has been in my stash for some time... when I showed this layout to my daughter ... her comment was "so you finally used that barb wire!"

THE BOYS

The challenge at Scrap the Boys for August is:

-Monochromatic layout (one colour), twine and chipboard

Mmmm bring on this challenge.... I am not really a monochromatic scrapper.... I am always attracted to "pretty colours" and "mixing and matching"

So I am really proud of my layout:

I have used the new and exciting Stampin' Up DSP Paper Stacks - the neutrals range.... Basic grey & Smoky Slate.

My twine is a variegated grey twine from my stash and my heading is from the Imaginaruim Design Range.

And of course you can't not have a "bit" of washi tape to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting my blog.... I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy creating it.

FAMILY TIME

Having fun with this sketch at Lets get sketchy week 3

I love this photo of Aunty Yvonne, her boys (sons & grandson) at Punakaiki Rocks (Pancake Rocks) on the Westcoast of the South Island.....   again the Stampin' up Soho DSP was used... thinking I will have to order more of this one.

JOINING ME FOR THE RIDE!

Ok.... so Christmas photos are finished and so now yes I am onto New Year...

I pulled my photos out and new instantly that Sketch #97 over at Sketchabilities

was just perfect for this photo........
We went down to Westport (Westcoast of the South Island - population of about 4000 people) to be with family for New Year.  My favourite Aunty (she will be reading this ) and my cousin milk cows and we got to hang out on the farm and help out a bit.  We had just come back getting the cows in for the boys to milk and one of the dogs decided he had done enough running around and would come for a ride on the bike with me!

I have used the wonderful Soho DSP from the current collection... I love this range of papers

HER OWN CHRISTMAS PARTY

Ok this is the final layout for Christmas 2012 .... gosh nearly time for Christmas 2013.

I used the sketch from My scraps & more #41

I have turned it around and had fun with these photos of our Cat "Agnes" being feed whitebait fitters by Kylie....
Yes she is a very spoilt member of our family.

M.I.A.

Gosh time flys and suddenly it is another week gone.... hence no postings from me for a while.

Last weekend I had a girls weekend away in Gisborne on a mini team retreat with 9 of my fellow stampin up' demonstrators...crafting, chatting, eating and drinking..  We are all part of the Delinkquents team with Delys Cram as our leader.

We all met once a month (normally here in Tauranga or Whakatane) and we do a "shoe box swap".... all attendees do a card kit and we proceed to work around the table swapping shoe boxes and we then get to take home a lovely variety of cards.

We all have a great time.... and it is a great way to share ideas for our card clubs.   If anyone reading this blog would like to join us.... flick me an email and we would love you to join us.

Here are a couple of photos of our weekend.....

We are planning another weekend away in February.... already looking forward to it.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

Another subject finished.... for this last layout of Christmas 2012 I have used the sketch at Prima

My girls on Christmas morning before opening their Santa Sacks.... yes at the ages of 20 & 22 they still believe in Santa...... well that's what they tell me & of course I believe them.

Every year I take a photo of them just before they open there sacks.  They are normally just out of bed and looking "beautiful"... Monique actually said after I completed this layout "that it was one of their better photos", even with their silly grins

COUSINS

I am still working through my Christmas 2012 photos and for this photo of the kids I used the great sketch over at My scraps & more

This photo is of the kids.... patiently waiting under the Christmas tree .... ready to give out all the family presents that were there and there were lots.
I have recently brought a Silhouette Cameo and very exciting to say the I cut "cousins" out with it... very proud of my very first cut........ bring it on now that I have started.

CAPTURE THE MOMENT.....

Lunch time on Christmas Day is always a very special time in our family..... we have many traditional dishes that are a must on the menu.

We always ensure a photo is taken before every one "digs in" and the sketch at Sketch n Scrap

worked well for the two photos I had... one from each end of the table.

For this layout I turned the sketch around and I am really pleased with the end result.   I had just received my chevron punch (an amazing new punch from Stampin' Up....  best part of being a demonstrator for Stampin' up... is I get to get early purchase of this punch) and really excited with it.

OUR CHRISTMAS TREE

I have a big container of photos and I am not allowed to move onto another topic until I have finished each event.... so at the moment it is Christmas 2012 (hey I am not that far behind).

The sketch at Lets get sketchy is the first of some of my highlighted photos from Christmas gone..

I always like to take a lights on and lights off photo of our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve... I love the way the lights swirl around the tree in the larger photo.

I used the lovely Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage range of papers for this layout.

I LOVE ICE CREAM

I am working through some of our many photos from the Christmas holiday time so the double layout at Scrap Much

was the perfect way to get some of the photos scrapped.

We, Maureen (Nana), Jack (Grandad), Sheryl & Liam, Kylie & Gavin went over to Mount Maunganui for lunch which was then followed up by a Copenhagen Ice Cream for desert...  they are a very yummy and large ice cream...... and very popular all year round.

RAIN RAIN .... go away

I am not really a "flowery" scraper... but the sketch over at Sketchabilities #96

really appealed and really came together with these photos..

of Maureen & Jack (my in-law) on Christmas Day 2012.  They are both smokers & every time they went out side for a smoke it would rain again or heavier than it all ready was... and so they had to take cover under the Wisteria... the kids kept telling them that it was the smoke causing the rain.

ON THE FERRY

The August challenge over at Scrap-the-girls is a recipe:

All entries must use
  • flowers
  • masking
  • doodling and
  • chipboard or wood veneers
I had this great photo of Monique and Maureen (Nana) on the Devonport to Auckland ferry (this was the first time Maureen had ever been on the ferry) and had fun putting all the ingredients of the recipe together... and this is what I "baked".

I sponged the mask... the flowers are in the paper I used (retired Stampin Up) and also the chipboard... on the flowers of the chipboard I used the exciting new "pop dots" for the centre of the flowers..... doodling doesn't totally show up on the photo but is around the striped paper and then there is my "horrible" handwriting... I don't very often doodle my journalling, I normally do it on the computer.

The piece of washi tape I have used with the writing on  it was just perfect..

Recipe complete... I am really happy with the way it has come together, and it has the family seal of approval.

Thanks for viewing.
